What can you do?

Becoming Future Friendly is easier than you think – it all starts with simple actions designed to help us save important resources. Below you can gain inspiration and advice on being Future Friendly, just take a look at some tips from our stakeholders on what you can do:

Save Energy

Reducing your thermostat’s temperature by one degree could cut your heating bills by up to 10 per cent and could save you around £55 per year

Save Waste

Use local recycling services. Making cans from recycled aluminium saves 95 per cent of the energy required to make them from bauxite, and by recycling glass, 315kg of carbon dioxide is saved per ton of glass melted.

Save Water

A bath can use around 80 litres of water, while showering uses much less. Be careful though as many power showers can use more water than a bath if you shower for more than five minutes. Try using a shower timer to monitor how long you are in there. If you are spending longer than 10 minutes what are you doing?
